Design Rationale

SPAZE's brand identity was designed with the objective of visual communication the client's vision: an unisex, streetwear line that is comfortable, trendy, and community-oriented. In order to ensure that the brand appeals to a wide range of their target audiences, including teenagers and adults, I carefully blended boldness, modernity, and meaning into the design.

The logo features a strong, gothic-inspired typeface to reflect the edgy, urban spirit of streetwear culture. For the letter "A," I crafted an original up-down mirrored symbol, resembling a flame or heart shape, to represent the client's values of love, care for the community, and commitment to using environmentally friendly materials.

In terms of color palette, I selected white to maintain clean, strength, timelessness, and ability to complement any outfit. Light blue was incorporated to evoke a sense of coolness, calm, and openness—qualities that align with the brand name “SPAZE”. Black was used for the background that enhances visual clarity and flexibility across different media. Overall, the design follows a chrome-inspired theme, capturing the sleek, modern aesthetic the client envisioned.


Logo Design Process


The SPAZE logo perfectly captures the brand’s spirit of community, trendy, and streetwear style. Designed with a bold, gothic-inspired font, the white lettering represents strength and timelessness, key elements of urban fashion. At the heart of the logo, the letter “A” is replaced with a custom, mirrored up-and-down love symbol, symbolizing the care, love, and responsibility SPAZE holds toward its community and the environment. A unique element of the brand's design communicates the brand's commitment to utilizing eco-friendly materials, creating comfortable apparel, and offering reasonable prices. The subtle use of light blue across the symbol and the geometric outline introduces a refreshing, calm feeling — like a cool open space where individuals can express themselves freely. Meanwhile, the black background enhances the logo’s appeal, ensuring it remains versatile across digital platforms and clothing items. The chrome-inspired sharpness and structure subtly hint at modernity and youth energy, aligning with the streetwear culture that SPAZE is built for. The logo embodies a clear focal point, a compelling composition, and a powerful narrative: Spaze is a place for authenticity, creativity, and bold self-expression.

  • Style: Wordmark + Optional Icon

  • Look: Strong, futuristic typeface that feels solid and confident.

  • Effect: Chrome finish, possibly metallic or glossy look to make the name "SPAZE" stand out.

  • Mood: Minimalistic but powerful.

  • Composition: Clear central focal point with good balance between boldness and cleanliness.

  • Flexibility: Logo can be simplified (just the text SPAZE) for T-shirt tags, caps, and small prints.

  • Colour palette: Black (#000000), White (#fcfdfe), Light Blue (#6889bd)

Visual Identity:

  • Typography: Futuristic sans-serif or slightly distorted fonts.

  • Imagery: Urban environments, community gatherings, individual portraits in comfy but stylish clothing.

  • Tone: Cool and confident.
